passing rowset between applications

I am trying to pass a rowset when I use the launch task but I keep getting a sql  error 'cursor out of bounds'.  I used visual map as it is presented and that didn't work, then I opened it up to edit in script and removed the specific data mapping and just mapped high level row set to row set. that didn't work.

I tried setting the local and launched to before first in the mapping and that didn't work. 

What should I be doing here?
